‘Tis the season! No, we don’t mean the holiday season. We mean the season for big brands to start looking ahead to 2017. Starbucks has done just that at their Biennial Investor Conference, where they showcased some upcoming offerings that they’ll roll out in the new year.
For starters, January will bring the launch of the new Cascara Latte for a limited time. The beverage is made with the fruity outer skin of the coffee cherry and spices up the classic Starbucks espresso with notes of dark brown sugar and maple. They’ll also relaunch the Smoked Butterscotch Latte for a limited run, which first made an appearance earlier this year.
On the breakfast front, the coffee titans are catering to the health food crowd with their Sous Vide Egg Bites, which offer a wheat-free, low calorie, high protein convenient alternative to their existing breakfast sandwiches. Later on in the spring, they also plan to serve up their first Certified Gluten-Free Breakfast Sandwich.
While they don’t exclusively offer breakfast-style food options, Starbucks isn’t exactly known for their lunch offerings. However, early 2017 might change that, as they plan to dish out organic soups and expand their Bistro Box selections while also introducing more grab-and-go lunch options.
The biggest expansion for the powerhouse brand, however, involves an invasion into the grocery aisles. Bottled Starbucks Cold Brew Cocoa, Honey with Cream and individually bottled Teavana Craft Iced Teas will all be popping up in select markets this coming spring. Flavors of these craft iced teas include Pineapple Berry Blue Herbal Tea, Peach Green Tea, Mango Black Tea and Passion Tango Herbal Tea.
Even a brand as big and successful as Starbucks has to change it up once in a while to keep their customers interested, and we’d say they are doing just that with these new, delicious sounding 2017 offerings.
