Home » RECIPE: Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
July 30, 2016
If you've ever bought bananas at the grocery store, chances are you threw a couple out because you couldn't eat them fast enough before they got brown and mushy. Instead of throwing them out when they're on the cusp of going bad though, why not try to make this classic banana bread and dress it up with chocolate chips? After all, chocolate is the bacon of baked goods - it makes everything taste better.
This simple banana bread recipe will allow you to make full use of the entire bunch and provide a relatively healthy, on-the-go treat for those mornings when you wake up late and just have to grab something quick on your way out the door.
1 hr 5 mins
1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and spray loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray.
2Smash bananas in mixing bowl and add in vegetable oil and stir with a spatula.
3Add the egg, sugar and vanilla extract. Continue to combine with a spatula.
4Add in flour, baking soda and salt. Continue to combine with a spatula.
5Mix in the chocolate chips.
6Pour batter evenly in loaf pan and bake for 50-55 minutes. When checking the center with a toothpick, it should come out clean.
7Allow bread to cool, then slice and enjoy!
