It seems like every restaurant has an app these days. In fact, it’s almost as if fast food isn’t fast enough anymore so we need to be able to order and pay from our phones because lines are just the worst, right? McDonald’s has already announced plans for a new app and now, as if to not be outdone by their competition, Burger King is joining in on the fun.
For our US readers, don’t get too excited just yet as the new app is only launching in Canada as of now. This spring will see the rollout to around 4,000 Burger King and Tim Hortons locations throughout Canada. No word on whether the rest of the world will benefit, but it has been tested at 25 Burger King locations in Miami since December, which leads us to believe that it’ll be available in the States sometime in the near future.
It appears that Burger King just wants to keep up with the digital times like many other chains are currently doing. Time will tell how far-reaching the new app ends up being and whether it will increase business for the mega chain, but while we wait for it to launch officially, tell us, would you use a Burger King order and pay app, or are you content with doing things the traditional way?
